Universities always have tons of activities mapped out for their students for the welcome week. But meeting new people and attending the activities can get a bit tiresome. As socializing is key so is taking time to yourself. Nothing gets more relaxing than just sitting and watching a movie that’s just fun and shows you how university gets rough but also can be made fun with friends around. So, here are 5 movie recommendations to get you through week one! And a bonus series streaming its final season this week on Netflix

Legally Blonde (2001)

Legally Blonde is a coming-of-age movie and a very famous one of that, starring young Reese Witherspoon. While being a fun-packed watch it also tells us a meaningful story of how many young women are marginalised and not taken seriously in education.

Elle Woods shows us how to cut stereotypes and remind people that women can be clever and yet wear makeup and be fashionable and do or be anything they wish.

So, pick the best outfits you have and make your way through university in style.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles: mutant mayhem (2023)

Despite amazing graphics and illustrations, this movie is just nostalgic. It is funny witty packed with action and a beautiful ending.

Meg 2 (2023)

Did someone say sharrrkkksss!!!! Meg 2 is a great watch with plot twists and storyline build which brings shockers and makes you at the edge of your seat but relaxed at the same time. Easy to watch if you love sea exploration and sharks. Obviously!!

Pitch Perfect 1,2,3 (2012-2017)

Pitch Perfect series is entirely based on university, sororities, clubs/societies, friendships, and competitions. Which brings out the excitement of the fresher’s week and matches the energy and excitement new students have. And maybe after watching these films some of you may get inspired to start our universities own acapella society or group.

Monster University (2013)

With detail and animation, the film gives me the first day at university, with all the societies, moving in day and just figuring everything out. It not just is a kid’s film as some say but teaches a lot of lessons about friendship and how you must take coursework seriously while also balancing curricular activities and time with friends. Teamwork and leaving out differences to make everything work is shown perfectly with loads of emotions and a sweet ending. A deep meaning shown is always to believe in what you can be and achieve it rather than what others say you can do or achieve.

Sex education (2023)

Who doesn’t love a little cheesy sex education drama? The new season coming out this week Friday so binge it or not, it’s sure going to be a fun treat to relax and chill for the first week of study.
